Cold Winds but High Spirits!
What a fantastic weekend we had 14th & 15th December at the second annual Made in Whitby Christmas Festival held in the shadows of the Whitby Abbey at the Whitby Brewery on the East Cliff.
Temperatures were cold but spirits were high thanks to the positivity of all the attendees and stallholders.
The beer certainly helped as well as hot pizzas from the brewery, and there were also marshmallows for toasting and carolling out in the snow (though it may have been artificial). There weren’t many scary ghost stories (though Krampus was there), but there were plenty of tales of the glories of Christmases long, long ago!
Our Very Own Made in Whitby – skincare, supplements, bee medicines, teas & gifts!
We were there with our retail products including propolis products from our BeeVital brand ( propolis is produced by honeybees & has many beneficial qualities for humans as well as for bees), https://beevitalpropolis.com/ skincare and Make Your Own Lip Balm Kits from Sweet Cecily’s https://sweetcecilys.com/, delicious loose leaf single ingredient and blended teas from the Whitby Tea Company, https://whitbytea.com/ in addition to supplements and skin creams from our Nature’s Laboratory https://natureslaboratory.co.u...retail range.

It was also an opportunity to promote who we are and what we do in Whitby, manufacturing herbal medicines for practitioners and herbalists, our research we undertake particularly into propolis, the projects we are spearheading, including the BeeArc https://www.beearc.com/, and the community interest company we support in Whitby on Skinner Street, the Dispensary https://thedispensary.org.uk/.
The Spirit of Whitby

There was plenty of music with live acts on throughout both days including the star of last year's festival the Swinging Santas who geed up the crowds and had us all in full voice.
It was a real celebration of the spirt of Whitby, with all these creative makers and producers based in and around Whitby coming together to showcase their skills, their products, and their projects.
A great way to end the year celebrating all that roots us, in our community with our peers and friends, making new connections and cementing existing friendships.
Events like this truly keep the sprit of Whitby’s hardworking and imaginative history alive in this modern world: Here are a group and community of businesses who are making things and doing things, creating things and leading change and growth.
Looking forward and Christmas wishes to one and all!
Looking forward to the summer festival in 2025 on the 3rd and 4th July.
Merry Christmas, and all the best for the New Year
